WSU Women’s golf finished last place at The Molly on Oct. 1.
It was a struggle of a tournament for the Cougars, as none of their golfers shot below par.
Senior Sarah Skovgaard-Blis led the Cougs at five-over-par, finishing in 21st place overall.
Next best was sophomore Sara Pinieros, who shot 22-over-par. She barely edged out fellow sophomore Alice Johansson, who shot a 23-over-par. It was a reality check for Johansson, who won each of their last two tournaments but finished in 57th at The Molly.
Freshman Agnes Brink finished in 60th place, 25-over-par. Senior Madelyn Gamble finished in 64th place, with a score of 30-over-par.
Despite their last-place finish, the Cougs should be proud of their early season success, particularly for Johansson’s pair of individual titles.
They now have three weeks to practice and prepare for their next tournament, on Oct. 20, the Clash at Boulder Creek, in Las Vegas.
