A freight truck collided with the Abelson Hall and Owen Science and Engineering Library pedestrian bridge on College Street early Monday morning.
WSU police said nobody was injured.
Facility services responded to a call from the superintendent about a truck that hit a sky bridge on the south side of campus. The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.
“I’m not exactly sure what led up to [the collision], I just got the call this morning from the superintendent saying we had a truck that made contact,” said WSU project manager Adam Ferry. “It sounds like it was possibly negligence.”
Ferry said this is not the first truck to hit the sky bridge.
Structural engineers were called in to make sure it was safe to remove the truck. A towing company will be taking the truck back to Spokane this afternoon, according to WSU PD.
