Dear Life Section,
This is my first year in Pullman and I’m not sure how to navigate homecoming weekend. Do you have any advice?
Sincerely,
Homecoming Fan
Dear Homecoming Fan,
Homecoming is a key part of the college experience at WSU. The weekend is packed with festivities, food and fun, and you can choose how much to participate. You can attend all the events, just one,or simply enjoy the football game on Saturday afternoon.
Kickstarting the activities, the WSU Alumni Association, along with ASWSU, Residence Life, Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic are hosting a Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The anticipated pep rally will be a great way to ignite school spirit and get the community ready for homecoming weekend.
The pep rally will be held in the Lewis Alumni Center and will hold food vendors, a beer garden, student DJ Xean Tanala and more.
Those who register early for the event will be entered into a raffle for swag, Cougar Gold cheese and more surprises.
The WSU football team kicks off against the University of Hawaii on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets through the WSU ticket page or access the game with your sports pass.
The Washington State University Alumni Association is partnering with WSU Athletics and providing a discount on homecoming game tickets.
For those who are at least 21, The Coug, The Land and Valhalla Bar and Grill will be showing the game.
Two hours before kick-off, members of the WSU Health Sciences and Cougar pharmacists will be hosting a tailgate in the Wegner Hall parking lot. The first 50 people to attend the event will receive a free 2024 College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Homecoming t-shirt.
With a diverse array of events planned, there are opportunities for everyone to find something that gets them excited for game day.
Everyone is invited to join the fun.
