Game with the biggest impact: Ole Miss at LSU
LSU makes their way into the playoff picture despite not leading against Ole Miss until the final whistle. The Tigers have Texas A&M and Alabama left on their schedule. With the difficulty of their SOS, if LSU wins their other four games, it’s possible they could make the playoff even with three losses, although that remains to be seen. With the loss to LSU, Ole Miss will likely need to win out to be considered for the playoff. The Tigers and the Rebels seemingly switched spots in the playoff hunt after the outcome of the game.
Newcomers: Nebraska and Army
Nebraska has a big opportunity in Bloomington on Saturday to move up the rankings. Army has a relatively easy schedule outside of a duel with the Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish in late November. The Black Knights issue is Boise State’s strong performance, as only one G5 team gets a playoff bid, and until the Broncos lose another game, they’ll remain ahead of Army in the rankings.Ā
