Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I need inspiration for my Halloween photos. Where do you suggest I go for the perfect backdrop?
Sincerely,
Halloween Fanatic
Dear Halloween Fanatic,
Autumn is a great time of year, especially in the Pacific Northwest. From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, fall football games and changing trees, Pullman is an excellent place to celebrate Halloween. As summer fades and fall approaches, the trees in Pullman transform into a vibrant canvas of autumn colors. Take advantage of your surroundings and snap your Halloween pictures outside.
The weeks leading up to Halloween are when the leaf foliage is at its peak. Bright colors and flowing leaves provide a creative way to spice up your Instagram feed.
WSU spans almost 2,000 acres and is home to more than 17,000 students, making for countless picturesque spots on campus. Thompson Hall, the oldest building on campus, offers a beautiful backdrop for photos. With rows of trees surrounding the building, the bright falling leaves will add an enchanting and spooky vibe to your pictures.
Downtown Pullman features many beautiful murals that would make great backdrops. Grab a coffee at Roost Coffee & Market and enjoy a perfect fall afternoon.
Reaney Park is surrounded by nature and offers a serene environment for photos. It’s close to campus and has an ominous gazebo that would be a great place to pose. The falling leaves will brighten up your photos and highlight the excitement of Halloween.
WSU and the Palouse are covered in an array of bright colors and leaf foliage in the weeks leading up to Halloween. Be sure to take pictures earlier in the day or during golden hour for the best lighting.
If you prefer to take pictures indoors, consider setting up a photo booth at home with a fun backdrop to capture your Halloween costume.
Can’t get your pictures taken before dark? Using your phone’s flash will illuminate your outfit and enhance the Halloween vibe.
Need a last-minute Halloween costume? Grab an old white sheet and cut out a pair of eyes. Find a pumpkin and get creative with your photos.
With festivities happening around campus in the weeks leading up to the spooky holiday, there are many opportunities to showcase your best Halloween costume.
Sincerely,
