Biggest differences from AP and Coaches Poll: Texas A&M and Indiana are ranked eighth and ninth. Texas A&M looks like a different team than when they lost to Notre Dame week one. With a new quarterback and eight games under their belt, the Aggies look like the better team compared to the fighting Irish and Indiana beat Washington by 14 with their backup quarterback. Kurtis Rourke is supposed to return against Michigan State. Both teams have taken care of business and look good doing it. As of right now, they are both playoff teams.
Newcomers: Washington State and Colorado
Here you go Coug fans, Washington State is in the top 25, sitting at 22. The Cougars have played one ranked opponent and lost by 21. Their wins against Texas Tech and Washington are looking worse as the season goes on and they donāt get UNLV or Colorado State, two of the top three Mountain West teams. They have played down to their competition, almost losing to San Jose State, Fresno State and San Diego State. The reason they are just getting in now is their weak strength of schedule mixed with inconsistency.
Coloradoās offensive and defensive lines have looked much improved compared to last year and that means they are getting to the quarterback on defense and Shedeur Sanders is able to get the ball to the weapons they have on offense. They are favored in the remaining four games on their schedule. Donāt look now but there is a chance for the Buffaloes to make the Big 12 title game.
