The 2024 US election was held on Nov. 5, and besides just the presidential and gubernatorial elections, a number of local elections were held at the county and city level.
Whitman County Commissioners Art Swannack and Tom Handy were re-elected with no opposition outside of the write-in vote, according to the Whitman County website. Both of them won with over 90% of the vote each.
Roger Sandberg was elected to the Whitman Superior Court Judge Position with 59.54% of the vote. Jenna Brozik came in second with 40.12% of the vote. All other candidates received 0.35% of the vote collectively.
All three levies for the City of Palouse were passed. One of the levies concerned operation and maintenance, one concerned the Palouse Pool and one concerned road oiling and maintenance. The three passed with 64.07%, 64.65% and 62.56% of the vote, respectively.
One other levy, on the Whitman county level, concerning cemetery maintenance passed with 58.38% of the vote.
