After a three-week break, students have returned to campus, classes began again on Monday and it is back to business as usual at WSU. Here are a few perspectives from the community now that class is back in session.
“I look forward to another semester of working hard and attending classes,” said Andrew Franke, Oozma Kappa fraternity president.
“I can’t believe it’s already the final semester of my final year. Time moves so fast. It feels like it was just a year ago when it was the final semester of my junior year!” said senior advertising major Blair O’Neill.
“None, I don’t even go here,” said Geoff Michels on what classes he will be taking this semester. “I dropped out years ago but just stayed in my dorm and so far no one’s kicked me out. I just need a place to stay where I ain’t picking up the bill.”
“It got so cold here by the end of last semester. I could barely stand it,” said freshman anthropology major Catherine Weiss. “But it’s the new year now, so the worst is over, right?”
“Man, I’m really excited to go back to class. I can’t wait to learn more about computers and numbers and all that stuff. That sure is fun,” said every computer science major apparently. “Pretty soon, I’ll learn whether an open-source DDR address can program the central SMS firewall and, statistically speaking of course, if that can bypass the XHTML feed through the mobile XML interface.”
“I can’t wait to finally finish my education, since I’ll have a lot of free time on my hands pretty soon,” said President Joe Biden. “Folks, a lot of you don’t know this about me, but I got kicked out of college back in 1927 when I was halfway through my senior year for running over a group of nuns in a stolen ice cream truck. Man, I was so drunk.”
“My only wish this semester is I get to be in a class with that cool guy, Daily Evergreen writer Josiah Pike,” said Sexy McHotgirlington, freshman hot-chick studies major and totally real person who I did not make up. “I’ve heard legends about him from across the land, that he is the most epic, hottest, funniest person on campus. If I could just see his beautiful fivehead but once during my time here, I would be satisfied for a lifetime.”
It is safe to say these students are excited to be back on campus. Good luck with this semester Cougs, and make sure to attend class at least once per month so you actually, you know, learn stuff.
