Following their loss at Pacific, the Cougars travel to San Francisco for a rematch against the Dons.
WSU beat the Dons at home in early January, but that was before their season was sent spiraling. The Cougars have lost five of their last seven games, including two Quad 4 losses against the Pacific Tigers.
On the one hand, it could help the Cougs. Wazzu’s only chance at making the NCAA tournament now is to win the West Coast Conference tournament. It means that for the final eight regular season games, the Cougars no longer have any pressure to win. It could help the team to relax, play loose and not overthink things.
ESPN’s matchup predictor gives WSU a 30.5% chance at victory, and the Dons a 69.5% chance at victory.
WSU is the healthiest they have been all season. Isaiah Watts and Rihards Vavers are back with the team, and Watts has returned to the starting lineup.
The game should be close, as even in their losses, WSU has been very competitive this year.
