The Peoples’ Republic of Antghanistan has officially dissolved after none of the ants signed up for the new Okta verify system.
Supreme Leader Joseph Stal-ant announced the end of the nation after the ants have been unable to communicate with each other since SMS verification was disabled on March 25.
“I mean, yeah, we had like a month to sign up for Okta verify, but we had more important things to do,” Stal-ant said. “We spent like two months trying to move a giant donut before realizing it was actually a sponge, so we’ve been busy for a while.”
Now that they are not able to access their WSU email accounts, the ants will be abandoning Antghanistan, once known as Murrow Hall, and will likely regroup somewhere else, he said. The ants tried to call the Crimson Service Desk to set up their Okta verify system, but they ran into immediate problems.
“It’s not easy for an ant to try to operate a phone, to be honest,” Stal-ant said. “Ants are so small that they generally don’t register when they touch the phone. For that reason, we’re thinking of launching a discrimination suit against Apple, but one thing at a time.”
The ants then tried to go to Crimson Service Desk’s physical location, but that was not possible either. Unfortunately for the ants, they came across an old friend there.
“I had this cardboard box with a sign that said, ‘Strip Club for Ants’ on it right outside the Crimson Service Desk. Once I got those morons in the box, I lit the thing on fire,” said Life editor Rebekah Rahman. “That probably took out a couple hundred of them. I gotta say, watching those ants burn alive was one of the greatest pleasures of my life.”
With their options exhausted and no way to contact each other, the ants will officially vacate Antghanistan by the end of the week, Stal-ant said. As for their future plans, the ants are not sure yet.
“All I know is we officially have until Friday to steal every single thing from this building,” Stal-ant said. “We’ll try to brutally kill a few members of the Evergreen staff on the way out, but we make no promises. I personally am in talks to guest host the Today Show, but that’s all speculation at the moment.”
