People across the state have received phone calls from someone claiming to be an official at WSU Police Department.

The caller demands money, and threatens legal trouble if the person doesn’t send money. The caller ID shows the name and number of a legitimate police agency.

In a news release, WSUPD stated that real law enforcement agencies will never demand money, and that people should not provide sensitive information over the phone.
