Celebrating 45 years in Pullman, the Cougar Country Drive In won the Students’ Choice Award for best burger and fries.

General Manager Brian Power has worked there for four years and celebrates the connection the establishment has with students.

“Cougar Country creates a bond with the local student community,” Power said.

The restaurant has been in Pullman since 1973 and is proud to have one local location. Their menu ranges from hamburgers to steak, shrimp and clam baskets.

Power believes they owe some of their popularity to the association students form between Cougar Country and the university. He sees older generations showing their children and grandchildren Cougar Country as a part of the WSU and Pullman experience.

“We are incredibly humbled by that,” Power said.
