Prosecutors charge football player with malicious mischief

The Whitman County Prosecutor’s officer has charged a WSU football player with a gross misdemeanor for allegedly urinating in an elevator and damaging a campus bathroom.
WSU Police were in contact in the early hours of March 4 with D’Jimon Jones, then a freshman, because he was apparently intoxicated, Assistant Police Chief Steven Hansen said.
He said someone then showed officers a Snapchat video that showed Jones allegedly urinating in a Northside Residence Hall elevator and damaging a paper towel dispenser in one of the building’s bathrooms.
Jones faces third-degree malicious mischief charges, and his arraignment is set for June 8 in Whitman County District Court in Pullman.
Associate Athletics Director Bill Stevens said WSU Athletics has no comment, as they consider the issue a team matter.
