Updated county vote tally reinforces incumbent leads

Pullman City Council incumbents retain lead with 2,500 votes still uncounted.
With 6,740 votes counted, Eileen Macoll, at-large, and Ann Parks, Ward 1, remain ahead of respective challengers Francis Benjamin and Chris Johnson, according to the Whitman County Elections website.
Macoll has 51.9 percent of the vote for the at-large seat with 1,293 votes, according to the election website. Benjamin trails with 47.4 percent of the vote with 1,179 votes.
Parks has 51.8 percent of the vote for the Ward 1 seat with 883 votes, according to the election website. Johnson trails with 47.5 percent of the vote with 810 votes.
Unopposed city council candidates Nathan Weller and Pat Wright both exceed 97 percent of the vote in their respective races.
The next vote count is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Thursday. Voter turnout for the county is at 26.98 percent.
