The Pullman Fire Department cleared a fire at the Terrace Estates at about 5:30 p.m.

The fire began at approximately 1:16 p.m. at 1165 S. Grand in a mobile home. Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Scharnhrost said investigators cleared the scene and the area is safe.

He said the structure was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The mobile home was completely lost and two homes next to it were in danger.

According to a Fire Department press release, Scharnhrost ordered crews to immediately spray water on the two neighboring homes.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and the two structures on its sides were saved without any fire damage, Scharnhrost said. One home had two windows cracked from the heat of the fire and a storage shed’s wall near the fire was slightly singed according to the press release.

Pullman police officers notified the American Red Cross to help provide housing to the two residents who lost their home, according to the release.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation. An estimate of damage to the structure and contents will be determined later.
