August 16, 2020
The Bookie is implementing safety measures to protect employees and customers from COVID-19, including sneeze guards and counter service.
Erin Svancara, The Bookie general manager, wrote in an email that the store reopened Aug. 10 with reduced hours. It is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The store placed sneeze guards at registers, Svancara wrote. Paths of travel through the store are also marked by tape to promote social distancing.
Both the store and the CUB will operate at reduced capacity, she wrote. There is a designated entrance for The Bookie located on the first floor of the CUB and the exit is located on the ground floor.
The textbook section in the store will operate with counter service where employees will procure the materials needed for each student, she wrote. Students can also order course materials online, which can be shipped to their homes or delivered to the store for pickup.
