WSU suspends all campus operations due to air quality concerns

In-person, online activities canceled; students advised to stay inside

BRADLEY GAMBLE, Evergreen reporter

WSU suspended all operations today at noon due to worsening air quality caused by heavy smoke from regional fires.

All in-person and online educational activities are canceled, according to the WSU alert.

Faculty and staff are advised to leave campus unless they are designated as essential personnel and are required to be on campus. Employees may continue to work remotely unless notified otherwise, according to the alert.

Students should stay inside as much as possible, according to the alert. They are advised to keep windows closed and avoid using candles, fireplaces or gas stoves to keep indoor air clean.Â
