Competition curbs waste

The winner of the Global Case Competition, Team Verde, plans to educate catadores - waste pickers - on the best techniques for finding recyclable plastic. Team members would also like to implement neighborhood cleanups and school-wide recycling competitions.

A team of WSU students has the opportunity to travel to Manaus, Brazil after winning the Global Case Competition for its solutions to eliminate plastic waste. These ideas will be implemented by students in Manaus to conserve the area’s natural beauty and promote environmental sustainability.
