The pandemic has affected everyone differently. It drastically changed our lives, from finances and relationships to employment. Isolation and distance learning are new challenges students must deal with.

We created the mental health beat to help raise awareness about mental health issues. Covering various mental health resources offered by WSU is a priority of ours. It is important students know what steps the university is taking to support the Cougar community.

The Mental Health Series will launch this week. We hope these stories will provide necessary information to the community while highlighting a variety of different mental health aspects.

Our coverage will not only cover mental health statistics and resources in Whitman County and Pullman, but it will also feature community members’ experiences with mental health.

We hope this series will encourage all of you and bring some light to your lives during these tough times.
