The WSU Foundation hosted its annual Cougs Give event Wednesday and raised $791,211 from 1,315 gifts.

Last year, the event brought in just over $700,000, according to a Daily Evergreen article

This year, the event had the highest ever amount of ambassador-referred gifts. These gifts are from people who signed up to be ambassadors and recruited friends or family members to give, said Spencer Farrin, Cougs Give direct marketing assistant director.

“We’re really happy with how it turned out,” he said. “We went into it … cautiously optimistic, and it really exceeded our expectations.”

Each WSU campus had an on-campus event Wednesday, with the Pullman campus setting up a booth on the Glenn Terrell Mall, Farrin said.

“Everyone I heard from who was out there said it was a really positive experience and they really enjoyed interacting with the students,” he said.
