Defense is key this week

Start – Michael Vick, QB, Eagles

Vick is flourishing in Head Coach Chip Kelly’s new offensive scheme. Vick has thrown for 631 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 77 more yards and two scores. As long as Vick is healthy, he will continue to rack up points due to his unique ability to throw the long ball and rush when needed.

Sit – T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts

Hilton was a pleasant surprise last season and has continued to show his worth this year, but the matchup against the 49ers does not bode well for him. The two physical, press-style corners in Carlos Rogers and Terrell Brown will give Hilton fits and few opportunities to get open. Hilton does not have a receiving touchdown yet this season, and he won’t have any after the game against the Niners, either.

Start – Minnesota Vikings Defense/Special Teams

The Vikings face the Browns in Week 3, and if that’s not motivation enough to start Minnesota’s D, then the notion of Browns backup quarterback Brian Hoyer starting should. The Vikings have an underrated defense with a good interior lineman to neutralize Browns running back Trent Richardson’s production. Look for the Vikings to feast off Hoyer’s inexperience and lack of playmakers on the offense.

Sit – Stephen Hill, WR, Jets

Hill has made a name for himself in the inconsistency department. He has the ability to be a starter in the flex for fantasy owners, but his negative qualities overshadow his positive ones. In the game against the Patriots, Hill was the leading receiver for either team with 86 yards. However, he also dropped a number of balls and had a crucial fumble. Until he rises to the occasion in pivotal moments, keep him out of the starting lineup.

Start – Knowshon Moreno, RB, Broncos

The University of Georgia product has finally asserted himself as a dependable player out of the backfield in Denver. With fellow running backs Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball struggling to find a niche within the offense, Head Coach John Fox has depended on the veteran Moreno to handle the bulk of the carrying duties. Expect Moreno to continue to see opportunities and set himself apart from the other tailbacks.
