Iman Isanovic has the spotlight on her as she runs out during player introductions vs. the Oregon Ducks, Oct. 27, in Pullman, Wash.

From Bosnia and Herzegovina to Arizona State to WSU, Iman Isanovic has made an impact on every team she has played for with her dominant and strong arm. Despite originally planning to play her final season with the Sun Devils, her head coach and the program parted ways.

With having a bond with WSU’s Magda Jehlárová from their time playing at the 2021 European championships on competing teams, the powerful right chose Pullman as her new team.

“We were introduced during that time, and after that, we became pretty good friends. When I entered [the portal], she jokingly asked me, ‘What are the chances of you coming to WSU?’ I said, ‘We’ll see,’” Isanovic said to the Spokesman-Review

Choosing the Cougs was all about putting herself in the best chance for success.

“For my fifth year, I really wanted to see how far I could go and I wanted to play with a well-integrated group,” she said in a COUGFAN interview. “I saw WSU as the perfect fit for both of those things. It really checked all my boxes besides the weather.”

At Arizona State, she became a two-time All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and one-time All-Pac-12 Conference Player. In 2021, she had 490 kills and 3.89 kills per set, then had 421 and 3.20, respectively, in 2022.

In her first and only year with the Cougs, she averaged 3.14 kills per set, 0.22 aces per set, 1.37 digs per set and 0.32 blocks per set while hitting .263%. Despite having a midseason slump that she looks to be breaking out of, she has made a meaningful impact on the top-10 Cougs.

She had a season-high 20 kills in the Cougs’ big win at home over BYU early in the season, hitting .417% in the win and adding four digs on top of her offensive domination. In WSU’s first bout with Stanford, she had a season-high 14 digs and finished with a double-double as she added 14 kills.

The double-double was one of three times she has been able to do it, as she had 16 kills and 11 digs against Drake on Sept. 1 and 13 kills and 11 digs against USC on Oct. 20.

Isanovic will be one of the four players recognized ahead of Nov. 12 match against USC, with the Cougs looking to sweep their senior night matches this weekend.
