A fraternity member was knocked unconscious Monday night, presumably after a falling down a flight of stairs.

Delta Chi member Anthony J. Pentecost, 21, was found lying unconscious on the floor of his fraternity house, Pullman police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said.

“I asked a bunch of guys in the house and they all gave the same story,” Tennant said. “Mr. Pentecost had consumed some wine with other members of the house.”

He said an ambulance arrived at the house and took Pentecost to Pullman Regional Hospital.

Tennant said Pentecost sustained facial fractures and had difficulty breathing. He said initial rumors suggested potentially life-threatening injuries, but that is not the case.

“Last I heard, he’s still at the hospital,” Tennant said.
