Hello, students! On behalf of the City of Pullman, I’m pleased to welcome you to Washington State University and the Pullman community.
Many of you are living in a new environment for the first time, which can be an exciting and sometimes overwhelming experience. We hope that while you’re here, Pullman will feel like your hometown. Whether you’re living on-campus or off, please know that we care about you and want your time here to be happy, comfortable, and fun.
Our hilly town offers a dynamic mix of campus life and a thriving community full of friendly people, diverse shops, and tasty restaurants, all nestled into the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse. It’s a great place to be a student, because everything is easily accessible by walking, biking, or taking Pullman Transit. You’ve already paid to ride public transportation as part of your tuition, so all you have to do is show your WSU ID card to get off College Hill and grab a coffee downtown, make a grocery run, or visit one of our wonderful locally-owned businesses.
Believe it or not, Pullman isn’t boring! There’s lots to do on evenings and weekends, and we’d love to see you out and about in town. Here are a few local resources to help you find city information, happenings, and events:
- Follow the City of Pullman on social media (and sign up for the newsletter): Pullman-WA.gov
- Get bus schedules and routes: PullmanTransit.com
- Find local restaurants, businesses, and fun events: Visit-Pullman.com
Thanks for choosing to go to college in Pullman. I hope you have a safe, enjoyable, and educational year. Go Cougs!
