The Idaho Supreme Court has ordered the transfer of venue in the Kohberger trial from Latah County to Ada County in an order released Thursday.
The order, signed by Chief Justice G. Richard Bevan, transferred the trial and all further proceedings to District Judge Steven Hippler of Idaho’s fourth judicial district.
In accordance with Idaho code, Kohberger will now be transferred to the custody of the Ada County Sheriff.
The Idaho Supreme Court’s ruling came after an earlier order from District Judge John Judge, granting Kohberger’s request for a change of venue, citing evidence of bias toward Kohberger in Latah County.
