Residence halls on the northside of campus, except for Global Scholars, lost power Tuesday morning.
Roughly 1,500 students are estimated to be affected by the outage, Housing Services said.
Meg Autrey, director of Housing and Residence Life, said an electrical feeder went down on campus, causing the outage. Facility operations have been trying to restore power since it went out around 4 a.m.
Power is not expected to be restored until 4:30 p.m., Facility Services said.
The Northside Café was also affected by the outage. Housing Services recommends northside residents dine at Hillside Espresso or Southside Café until power is restored.
Some traffic lights on campus were also affected by the outage.
Hillside manager, Cindy Carlson-Combs, said there will not be any large impact on dinning at Hillside due to the outage.
