McKinnon will have you McWinnin

Start: Jerick McKinnon, RB, Minnesota Vikings

It seems to be that Matt Asiata’s fantasy stint has come to an end. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer stated that he wanted to get Asiata more touches against Buffalo last week at the expense of McKinnon. This did not happen. in fact it was the complete opposite. McKinnon carried the ball 19 times for 103 yards against Buffalo’s strong run defense, while Asiata had only seven total touches. Fantasy owners should be confident to not make this mistake again, especially with the Vikings going up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers whose run defense is to say the least, just not very well.

Justin Forsett, RB, Baltimore Ravens

This season Forsett surprisingly ranks ninth among fantasy running backs with 80.1 points in standard-scoring leagues. Going up against the Bengals this week, Forsett should be able to continue his hot streak. Cincinnati has allowed the 10th most fantasy points per game to running backs this season and are ranked 30th in run defense, according to sportsillustrated.com. As long as the Vikings can get inside the red zone and keep the ball on offense, Forsett should be a good start.

Sit: A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

A.J. Green has mostly missed half of the Bengals’ games this season due to his toe injury. Although head coach Marvin Lewis said that he is optimistic that Green will be on the field this week, he was also optimistic that Green wouldn’t miss any time at all. With this toe injury nagging Green, starting him is a definite risk that doesn’t have a high reward.

Sit: Trent Richardson, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Richardson is currently dealing with a hamstring injury in which he suffered last week against the Bengal’s and after undergoing an MRI his status is doubtful. Even if Richardson is able to play I advise against it; even at 100 percent he’s still a risky player to start. Although he did have an above-average game against Cincinnati last week with 77 yards on 14 carries, let’s not forget that the Bengals run defense has been struggling. If you have options at the running back position try to steer clear of Richardson this week and start someone else.
