Strong winds could continue throughout week
February 6, 2018
Due to contrasting air pressures in Pullman, there has been an increase in strong wind currents.
According to AgWeatherNet, a network station that tracks weather patterns for all WSU campuses, the wind gust around central Pullman will fluctuate between 16-25 mph in the next few days.
Nic Loyd, an AgWeatherNet meteorologist, said the influx of wind currents would get stronger before it slowly dies down around the end of next week.
Windy conditions are usually caused by air pressure differences, he said.
Loyd said the differing pressures from west of Pullman and the lower pressure from the east are the main reasons for the strong winds.
