Pullman city government offices and the post office will close Monday, while WSU and Pullman Public Schools students will have the day off in celebration of President’s Day.

Though WSU won’t hold classes, university offices will remain open. Franklin, Jefferson and Sunnyside Elementary Schools, Lincoln Middle School and Pullman High School as well as Neill Public Library will be closed.

Pullman Transit will be running on community service that day, with Blue, Silver, Gray and Loop routes running from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. They will also be running their Dial-A-Ride service from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. as well.

On-campus parking will be free in permit lots, and payment will not be required at parking meters, the Smith Center Garage, the Library Garage and the Student Recreation Center.

President’s Day is a federal holiday, meaning the post office will not make deliveries.

President’s Day celebrates President George Washington’s Birthday, who was born Feb. 22. The holiday is observed on the third Monday in February.

This article has been updated to reflect that Pullman Transit will be running on their community schedule, instead of holiday hours.
