Suspect in winery break-in flipped truck, layed in highway

From staff reports

PULLMAN – A man who allegedly broke into the Wawawai Canyon Winery early Monday morning told law enforcement he was responsible for two previous break-ins. The incident marked his third encounter with law enforcement over the weekend.

Jedidiah Adams, 25, of Pullman was found outside his residence about a half-mile away from the winery. According to a press release by the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, the owner of the business heard the front door shatter, called 911 and provided a detailed description of the suspect.

Deputies arrested Adams on charges of attempted burglary, malicious mischief and vehicle prowl for the incident at the winery. Adams faces additional charges of attempted burglary for two break-ins at the Advantage Mini-Storage facility on Highway 270.

Adams was also the driver in a single-vehicle rollover accident involving his 1993 Dodge Dakota, Sunday afternoon on Wawawai-Pullman Road. He was not injured during the accident.

About 13 hours prior to the accident, Adams was taken into protective custody for allegedly lying in the middle of the highway, obstructing traffic. The responding deputy’s report indicates Adams was taken to the hospital for mental evaluation.

Adams had his first appearance Monday afternoon in Whitman County Superior Court.
