Two more food drives hosted this weekend

From staff reports

We’re not the only ones supporting local food banks this summer.

Palouse Cares is looking for volunteers to hold a food drive this weekend. On Friday volunteers will hand out food bank shopping lists from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in front of the Safeway and Rosauers grocery stores in Moscow.

On Saturday, they’ll do the same in front of Dissmores IGA on Grand Avenue in Pullman. About eight volunteers are needed for each location.

Palouse Cares is also searching for about 20 volunteers for a door-to-door food drive on Saturday. Volunteers are asked to meet at either the Moscow Building Supply or the Pullman Building Supply at 9 a.m.

Also on Saturday, the Washington State Employees Credit Union will hold its annual Community Shred and Share Event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Anyone may bring up to three file-size of old tax returns, account statements and other sensitive documents to the Pullman branch on Bishop Boulevard, where they will be shredded. Those who attend may donate non-perishable items that will go to the Community Action Center in Pullman.
