ALBION—A man was arrested Friday night after he allegedly assaulted and choked his girlfriend during an argument in their Albion residence.

Cameron S. Dorning, 24, was booked into jail on charges of second-degree and fourth-degree assault in addition to interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and third-degree malicious mischief.

Dorning retaliated after he was asked to leave the residence during the argument, according to a press release from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office. In the process he attempted to stop his girlfriend from calling 9-1-1 and did extensive damage to the residence.
