The winning mentality of athletes just might contribute to longer, better sex.

Athletes are viewed as people who are physically and mentally fit in whichever sport or workout they are interested in. They are icons people admire and imitate simply because of how great they are at whatever they do. Some of the top people who come to mind when someone says athlete are LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Tom Brady and more.

They are often people others aspire to be, but have you ever thought of what it would be like to be in a sexual relationship with an athlete?

Now, there are many people that are not professionals but are still very athletic; however, these people share common traits with the professionals, making them very successful and fit. These traits include endurance, strength, motivation and a winning mentality.

These characteristics are valuable to the success of each athlete, but the real question is whether they can transfer those traits out of the gym and into the bedroom. People may think sex with athletes is a better experience because of these traits.

Terrence Jamison, a sports management graduate student, said endurance is an advantage that athletes hold over an average person.

“I believe an athlete’s endurance is better because they are constantly putting their bodies through physical feats,” Jamison said. “This includes weight training and cardiovascular training for their specific sport. They have all the motivation in the world because they have the resources to help them succeed.”

Clearly, endurance is an important factor when it comes to sex with athletes. This is because endurance means having the ability to be active for a long period of time, leading athletes to last longer and resulting in a potentially better sexual experience.

Strength and motivation factor into better sex performance by athletes because they are both driving forces that will increase the intensity in the bedroom. Strength allows for faster movement and physical ability while motivation will encourage not only the athlete, but also you, to keep going strong.

Lastly, a winning mentality causes the athlete to strive for victory, or in this case making it to the finish line. With a mentality set for success, an athlete may treat sex like a game in which they want to win and do it in the best way possible.

In theory, these traits all combine to make sex with an athlete a better experience for everyone. However, a big question is if they actually use these traits outside of the gym and competition. Jamison thinks that athletes do use their traits; however, they may use it for multiple occasions other than sex.

“I don’t see the issue with using those traits outside of training and competition,” Jamison said. “But I can’t really speak on what they use it for.”
