WSU women’s golf will travel down to Stanford, California, from Friday to Sunday for the Stanford Intercollegiate meet, the team’s fourth meet of the season.

The Cougars placed sixth in the Ron Moore Women’s Invitational two weeks ago in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. With high hopes after the success of the last tournament, WSU will be looking to perform well when the team travels to Stanford.

Freshman Amy Chu and junior Marie Lund-Hansen led the team in the Ron Moore Invitational as Chu shot a combined 218 (+2) and Lund-Hansen shot a combined 219 (+3). The two will look to compete competitively against the 16 other teams in the upcoming meet.

Chu and Lund-Hansen will be two of five people competing from the WSU team in Stanford. Joining them will be senior Madison Odiorne, redshirt sophomore Emily Baumgart and junior Elodie Bridenne.

There will be three rounds for a total of 54 holes played in three days at the Stanford Intercollegiate meet. This meet will have a total of 17 teams, seven of which are currently ranked.

The two highest-ranking teams at this competition will be No. 2 University of California, Los Angeles, and No. 4 Stanford University.

With half of the Cougar team being underclassman, they will face a challenge showing consistency in their scores. WSU will need to make a stellar performance in Stanford in order to be one of the leading teams in this weekend’s competition.

The Cougars will face the additional 16 teams Friday through Sunday on the par-71 Stanford University Golf Course.
