A safe containing a hard drive filled with personal information of survey participants with the Social and Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC) was stolen, according to a WSU News release.

The SESRC reported the safe was stolen April 21. WSU conducted their own investigation and notified the police as well, according to the release. The drive contained names, Social Security numbers and personal health information.

WSU has reached out to individuals who may have their information on the hard drive. There is no evidence that anything has happened to the information, according to the release.

The university began mailing letters to the individuals on Friday and have also setup a helpline at 866-523-9195 for anyone who has questions or may have been affected.
