Muslim students plan events, outreach for Islamic Awareness Week

The Muslim Student Association hosts Islamic Awareness Week this week, starting today with a Dawah table on Glenn Terrell Mall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A panel discussion will feature interfaith community speakers from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m on Tuesday in Todd 133. For movie night on Wednesday, “The Message” will be shown from 6 – 8 p.m. in CUE 203.

Imam Azhar Subedar will speak from 4 – 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in Heald Hall G3. Subedar is a Florida-based organizer and speaker, a spiritual director at the University of Florida and a member of the White House faith-base and community initiatives, according to a WSU news release.

The week will end with an open house at the Pullman Islamic Center from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. and Imam Raed Alsawaier will give a sermon at the center.
