WSU invites public input on student conduct process

The university released a statement on Thursday inviting public comment on the student conduct process, which is currently under review by an independent attorney following allegations of racial and ethnic bias in the handling of football player Robert Barber’s case.

According to the release, education law specialist Marc Lyons began the review on Oct. 28 to assess the Student Conduct Board’s decision to expel Barber for his role in a fight over the summer. The review is expected to be completed by early January, the release stated.

Input may be submitted anonymously to the student conduct page on the Office of the President’s website, at which Lyons and his team will have direct access to the comments.
