Campus resources provide stress relief for students during finals

From Staff Reports

With tests to take, papers to write and presentations looming, the end of the semester isn’t all bad – for students who know where to find the perks.

Several on-campus organizations will offer helpful distractions from the blur of books and Scantrons that make up Dead and Finals Week.

Fuel a study session

The Dining Centers (Hillside, Northside and Southside) will provide free coffee every day of Finals Week.

The CUB will be open 24 hours a day from Dec. 4 – 13 and will offer free coffee and freshly baked cookies at 10 p.m. Dec. 4 and 13.

The Holland/Terrell Library will remain open 24 hours a day Dec. 2 -12.

Free coffee, tea and Sweet Mutiny cupcakes are available every Monday at the Center for Health Promotion.

Although it was a big hit last year, the kittens and puppies from the Whitman County Humane Society will not make an appearance in the CUB this semester.

Do something nice

The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) will host Service Giving Projects Dec. 4- 6 at various locations in the Pullman-Moscow area. Students will pick up litter, remove graffiti and give manicures to the elderly.

More information is available at cce.wsu.edu.

Hit the slopes on a budget

University Recreation (UREC) will host the 39th Annual Ski and Gear Swap Dec. 6 and 7 in the Student Recreation Center.

Students can buy, sell and trade new and lightly used skiing and snowboarding equipment.

Admission is $1 per person. More information is available at urec.wsu.edu.
