Brock Lindberg, a 21-year-old WSU student from Wenatchee, was found dead in his bed at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house at about 12:50 Monday morning.

Pullman Police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said police arrived at the fraternity after receiving a report of an unconscious man. An ambulance arrived shortly after and emergency responders performed CPR before pronouncing Lindberg dead.

A coroner at the scene said there were no signs of violence, but police are still awaiting an autopsy.

The Whitman County Coroner’s office said in a news release on Monday that they are investigating Lindberg’s death, and that the cause and manner of death will not be determined until the autopsy is completed and toxicology results are available.

A GoFundMe created by Pi Kappa Phi member Drew Thompson, to ease Lindberg’s family’s financial burden for costs related to his death, had raised more than $900 of its $5,000 goal as of Monday night.

According to the GoFundMe, Lindberg was a double major and served as scholarship chair for the fraternity.

“His infectious excitement for life rubbed off on everyone he met,” the GoFundMe reads.
