Police investigating social media threats against local entities

The Pullman Police Department is investigating social media threats against various Pullman individuals and entities, including the Community Action Center and the Gladish Community & Cultural Center according to a new release.

The release stated that police are investigating threats from a resident of the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley, but have no reason to believe the individual is in Pullman.

Jeff Guyett, executive director of the Community Action Center, said a past client of the center made threats against employees. He said police have put a restraining order on the individual and are handling the situation. Police could not be reached for comment.

“I think it’s all gonna work out,” Guyett said. “We’re concerned and diligent but we’re not necessarily panicked in any way.”

Donna Gwin, executive director of Friends of Gladish, said the Gladish Community and Cultural Center has put security measures in place, including extra police patrols and volunteers from the fire and police departments during the center’s Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday.

She said the threat was minor and that she feels these arrangements will suffice.

“We have people that know how to take care of business that are part of the event tomorrow,” she said.
