A WSU cadet in mock gear takes a break between missions to eat one of his rationed Meals Ready-to-Eat (MRE). Each MRE is military standard and varies in type or size. The meals provided contain an average of 1,250 calories. Cadets are allotted three a day, unless cadre (administrative university military personnel) provides a hot meal instead.
