From staff reports

The WSU Board of Regents unanimously approved president-elect Kirk Schulz’s employment contract at a special meeting on Friday.

Schulz, who is currently president of Kansas State University, will take over at WSU on June 13. He will receive an annual salary of $625,000, as well as a $25,000 retention payment at the end of each year.

The regents unanimously approved a resolution granting Schulz delegation of authority, allowing him to act on behalf of the Board of Regents in WSU administration and governmental matters, said Ryan Durkan, chair of the board.
