Man leads police on two-state car chase

From staff reports

Police arrested a Moscow man for eluding a police vehicle and other crimes, after a 30-minute pursuit spanning from Albion into rural Latah County at about 11 a.m. Saturday.

Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers said 49-year-old Brian Allery’s other charges included driving with a suspended license, an outstanding felony warrant for burglary and identity theft and possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.

According to a press release from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), deputies attempted to stop Allery after he committed a traffic violation. Allery did not pull over and proceeded to reach speeds above 90 mph on gravel roads.

Officers from the WSU Police Department and deputies from the Latah County Sheriff’s Office joined WCSO deputies in the pursuit.

The pursuit ended at a dead end on Phillips Farm Road in Latah County where Allery was taken into custody, according to the release. Allery told deputies he didn’t stop because he was testing their driving abilities.

Allery was booked into the Latah County Jail with charges in Latah and Whitman Counties.
