Death on Endicott Road

From staff reports

Joshua Timmermans, 32, of Endicott, was found dead in a creek 3 miles west of Diamond at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, roughly 500 yards from where he had rolled his pickup earlier that morning.

According to a media release from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene of a roll-over accident on Endicott Road and were able to locate Timmermans’ pickup but could not locate Timmermans at the time.

Deputies and local fire crews searched the immediate area for Timmermans for several hours with night vision and were unable to locate him, according to the release.

After Timmermans did not make contact with anybody or show up at his home, a secondary search was conducted and Timmermans was found dead, completely submerged in the creek.

It is believed that Timmermans walked away from the accident and fell into the creek. According to the release, initial reports indicated Timmermans was seen highly intoxicated before the crash, which was likely a factor in the roll-over and fall into the creek.

The Whitman County coroner will determine the exact cause of death. Timmermans’ family has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
