Fireman and citizen

After a tree took down a power-line outside of the Acacia fraternity chapter house on B Street Tuesday evening, Pullman PD and Fire closed the road between Colorado Street and California Street. Empty vehicles were parked beneath the tree and downed powerline. Firemen, policemen and half a dozen fraternity men assisted in clearing the debris. Similar incidents occured in other areas of Pullman such as Kamiaken Road, Myrtle Street, and Paradise Street among others.

Avista remorted that the number of outages acounted for throughout the evening surpased the amount managed in 1996 during a snow storm. Nearly 50 percent of Avista’s electric customers in Washington and Idaho lost power.
