IFC hopefuls make speeches to panel

From staff reports

At 7 p.m. on Oct. 20 In Todd Hall, Room 230 fraternity members running for 2016 council were given five minutes to discuss their credentials for the positions they were slated for by the current Interfraternity Council (IFC) on Sunday.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, the slating committee convened for the first time this year to review applications and begin the slating process. Fourteen men from seven different fraternities are running for nine IFC council positions.

Each individual presented a carefully prepared speech to current council members and fellow fraternity brothers. After the speeches, members running for council left the room and other members reconvened to provide feedback based on what they heard from the potential IFC council members.

Tonight the IFC council will reconvene to hold their third and final slating session of the week. Election week starts next week.
