Skies darkened as a severe storm blew through Pullman, bringing predicted winds of 6o mph, downing power lines and blowing trees down a little after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
According to an alert issued by the National Weather Service, a severe storm was identified over Moscow, moving northeast at 40 mph. Close to 1,000 power outages have been reported mainly on College Hill, according to Avista outage maps. Near zero visibility and winds of 60 mph have been forecast.
The alert was issued late Wednesday afternoon, and is expected to remain in effect until 11 p.m.
The National Weather Service recommended moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of your building.
