Pullman police arrested WSU fraternity member Taylor Culbertson on Friday night outside the Lambda Chi Alpha house on a charge of felony assault in connection to a fight that occurred on College Hill in October.
Culbertson, who claimed he acted in self-defense, has been charged with felony second degree assault, according to the Whitman County Inmate Listing website.
In Washington, second degree assault is a Class B felony. If convicted, Culbertson faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.
Police responded to reports of the assault just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 20 on 900 NE Colorado Street, police said. Upon arrival, Pullman police identified two victims who had been assaulted after attempting to break up a fight.
The two victims were identified as a 21-year-old male and his 50-year-old father. Both were beaten by a group of college students who ran into the Lambda Chi Alpha house following the assault, police said.
The 21 year old was knocked unconscious during the assault and taken to Pullman Regional Hospital, police said. He was treated for a head injury, but is expected to make a full recovery.
