Councils issue wristbands for Greek events

With increased activity and outside visitors during Halloween weekend, the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils have issued wristbands to increase member safety at Greek events.

In addition to issuing custom wristbands to attendees, they will designate specific locations to enter and exit events, according to a news release issued by the councils.

The wristbands are branded with unique logos specific to WSU’s Greek chapters, in order to ensure authenticity.

Wristbands signify that all guests who have one will have a deeper understanding of the security requirements and expectations for guests of WSU.

Risk monitors, who who are required to check wristbands for chapters, will deny guests who attend any Halloween events without a wristband.

Mitchell Weholt, an IFC director of public relations, said the new wristbands have been put in place until the end of Halloween Weekend.
