Murrow announces dean finalists

WSU has announced two finalists for the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication dean position.

The two finalists for the position are Andrea Miller and Interim Dean Bruce Pinkleton. Both will provide public presentations to outline their ideas for the college, followed by question-and-answer sessions.Eddy Perez

Andrea Miller is the associate dean for undergraduate studies in the Manship School of Mass Communications at Louisiana State University. She received her doctorate from the University of Missouri and currently teaches courses in crisis communication, broadcast and multi-media journalism. She has published many articles on television news and crisis coverage.

Pinkleton

Miller’s presentation will take place from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Goertzen Hall Auditorium, Room 21.

Pinkleton received his doctorate from Michigan State University in communications and mass media. He is also a professor at Murrow, where he teaches public relations and political communications to both undergraduate and graduate students. Pinkleton has won three awards for his teaching, and eight for his research.

Pinkleton’s presentation will be from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Feb. 15 in the same location.

According to a news release from the Office of the Provost, the College of Communication encourages all students to attend the presentations.

Surveys will be provided for all students to fill out, and WSU President Kirk Schulz and Provost Dan Bernardo will review the feedback.
